Swing of things

We arrived back home Monday afternoon from being in Phoenix all weekend. The wedding was so perfect. Everyone looked great, the weather was perfect and the kids involved in the wedding acted appropriately for their age. lol

Alex looked so adorable in his little suit! He didn’t like the top button buttoned since it was so tight around his neck, so we left it unbuttoned. His shirt wouldn’t stay tucked in either, but no one noticed. He looked a bit disheveled, but he was a blast. We thought for sure that we would have to take him back to the hotel room early in the evening seeing that he is only 2 and there were so many new people around. He surprised us all though, he was nearly the life of the party. Once the DJ set up and played a couple songs he was out on that dance floor. At first he was just running around being silly, but Uncle Jason taught him how to spin around on the dance floor and breakdance. That was the end of the aimless running around. lol He even showed us all some awesome running and sliding onto his knees from the other side of the floor. He was so cute, I really wished I had brought the video camera.

He looked like he was having so much fun. He loved dancing with Amy, the bride. He loved being the center of attention and having everyone cheer him on, it was just priceless. He got the cutest Build-a-Bear in a little shirt, tie, vest & pants for being the ring bearer in the wedding. He was the last one on the dance floor when everything came to a close for the evening. Once we got back to the hotel room we all got into some comfy clothes, except Alex. He threw a fit when we tried to take of his dress shirt, so he slept in it. He passed out about 20 minutes after getting back to the room.

The other boys didn’t have nearly as much fun, in fact, I think they would say they had no fun at all. All they did was eat a little of dinner and sit at the table. We tried many times to get them out on the dance floor with us all but they were just dead weight while we drug them out there.

I have some pictures ready to go, but unfortunately most of them were too blurry. I just stopped taking pictures at a certain point because after awhile, I was just sick of everyone getting in my way when I did want to take a picture. There was this girl in front of me at the ceremony who kept leaning into the aisle to take pictures, she stayed in my way for far too long and I got frustrated. The same thing happened at the reception, people would walk up and stand in front of our table and take a bunch of pictures.

It was a great weekend though, nice to see everyone again.

Inside our house

Slowly, ever-so-slowly, I am getting pictures together and uploaded. You can see pictures of the inside of the house here in our folder at SmugMug.

I do have a fairly legitimate reason for being so behind on getting pictures posted. Our stuff arrived on Thursday morning. We were ecstatic to see our driver and the moving truck. They were here at about 7:45am. Around 9:30 Tommy, Anthony and I left to head to their school. When we went to enroll them on Wednesday we found out that the school was having their make up picture day on Thursday so we decided to take advantage. We dropped off their registration packets and got their pictures taken and headed back to the chaos.

The movers were done right around noon. About 2 1/2 hours faster than it took them to load everything up. We think everything arrived safe and sound. We did catch that they didn’t unload the top of the bakers rack, so they looked for that before they left. Now comes the much anticipated unpacking the boxes to see our how our packers thought it was appropriate to pack things. It’s been amazing to see the things they decided to wrap, like baggies, but not pictures. They left whole rubbermaid storage bins full, but emptied photo storage boxes and let the pictures float around aimlessly in the boxes. They left an array of things they wouldn’t pack, but yet we found quite a few similar items packed.

I was so careful to place the hardware for all of our curtains in a labeled baggie, the hardware for our bed in a baggie (appropriately labeled) and yet another labeled baggie with Alex’s bed hardware. I was almost in tears when I came across the baggies in a box, empty. Yes, empty. Apparently it was pertinent that they empty the baggies into the packing paper and wrap it up. Fortunately they dumped each baggie into a separate paper, however, we think all the odds-n-end hardware pieces we found lying around the house after they left might have been from Alex’s bed.

The boys start school tomorrow. Lucky kids had 2 weeks off from school and will have a 6 day weekend. We are taking off on Thursday morning to head to Phoenix and will come back on Monday. Though the boys school is closed on Monday and Tuesday for Veteran’s Day.
